THE SECURE WRAP SYSTEM

The Secure Wrap System calls for a baggage wrapping machine and an operator to be deployed in the terminal of an airport in plain view of the traveling public. The machine is completely portable and can be operated anywhere in the terminal only occupying 18 sq ft of terminal space. As the passenger approaches the machine he will be greeted by our operator who will notify the passenger of changing restrictions and asked if they are sure that they have no unauthorized goods in their luggage.

Once the luggage has been weighed to make sure it adheres to airline guidelines it is wrapped in plastic and sealed on all sides. The wheels and the handle are left exposed so the luggage is still easy to transport and easy for airlines to do any tagging necessary. The luggage is also tagged using a special label that Secure Wrap has created for both accountability and security. This tag consists of three sections. One of which holds the tail of the plastic, the other which is placed on the handle, and finally the last section is the receipt form for the passenger. The tagging is important since Secure Wrap offers different services and prices based on luggage size.

The label serves as a way to identify the various prices as well as making it plainly visible to the passenger. After the item is wrapped, it is returned to the passenger who will then take the bag to the security screening area. If for any reason the bag is opened for secondary inspection, Secure Wrap will re-wrap the luggage at not additional charge.

This process ensures that the luggage is never left exposed after screening and guarantees the passengers that their luggage will always be wrapped and secured. Secure Wrap has operated in this manner, incident free, since the inception of this process. After inspection is completed the baggage must still be handled by ramp agents as it proceeds to the cargo area of the aircraft. The application of the Secure Wrap system provides a solution by deterring any attempt of illegal activities. The same applies to delayed luggage that will be sent on another flight.
